Carrier HVAC Installation & Repair

Technicians Near You — Same-Day Service in Los Angeles

EA Mechanical installs and services Carrier Infinity, Performance, and Comfort series HVAC systems across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. We are not a dealer-affiliated shop, which means we recommend the right system for your home regardless of brand — and Carrier is one of the brands we install most often. Call (818) 988-9060 for a free in-home quote.

Carrier has been a leader in residential HVAC for nearly a century. The current lineup splits into three tiers: the Infinity series (variable-speed, smartphone-integrated, premium), the Performance series (mid-range two-stage equipment), and the Comfort series (single-stage budget-conscious systems with strong reliability). All three qualify for our standard install, startup, and labor warranty.

Because we are an independent installer rather than a Carrier-only dealer, we will tell you honestly when a different brand would be a better fit for the home. We have seen too many homeowners locked into one brand by a contractor's distributor agreement when the right answer was something else entirely.

Carrier Models We Install Most in LA

  • Carrier Infinity 26 (24VNA6) — variable-speed inverter AC, up to 26 SEER2, IRA tax-credit eligible.
  • Carrier Infinity 24 (24VNA4) — two-stage premium AC for whole-home comfort.
  • Carrier Performance 17 (24SCA6) — strong mid-range two-stage AC at a reasonable price point.
  • Carrier Comfort 16 (24ACC6) — single-stage AC for replacement-only jobs on a tight budget.
  • Carrier Infinity 98 gas furnace (59MN7) — variable-speed, 98% AFUE, ENERGY STAR.
  • Carrier Infinity heat pump (25VNA4) — variable-speed heat pump for full electrification.

Typical Carrier System Cost in LA (Installed)

A Carrier Comfort series single-stage AC replacement on existing ductwork typically runs $5,500 to $8,500 installed for a 3-ton system in the San Fernando Valley. A Performance two-stage AC runs $7,500 to $11,000. An Infinity-tier variable-speed system with a matched coil and the Infinity Touch thermostat runs $11,000 to $16,000. A complete Infinity AC + 98% AFUE gas furnace package on a typical 1,800-square-foot LA home falls between $14,000 and $20,000. Final pricing depends on tonnage, line-set work, electrical upgrades, and condenser-pad work.

Why Customers Pick Carrier

Carrier's Infinity series is consistently among the quietest residential AC systems on the market, and Carrier's variable-speed inverter compressors deliver some of the best dehumidification performance we have seen. Reliability data from independent surveys puts Carrier near the top of the residential HVAC pack year after year. Parts are widely stocked across the LA area, which keeps repair turnaround short.

Service Availability for Carrier in the Valley

EA Mechanical services Carrier residential equipment of any age, from current Infinity models back through legacy Bryant-built Carrier units and the older 38CK series condensers still running across the Valley. We carry common Carrier parts on the truck — capacitors, contactors, control boards, pressure switches — so most repair calls are first-visit fixes. For warranty service on systems we did not install, we coordinate directly with the Carrier distributor on your behalf.

Warranties on a Carrier Install

Carrier's Infinity series ships with a 10-year limited parts warranty and a 10-year limited compressor warranty when the system is registered within 90 days of install. Performance and Comfort series typically carry 10-year parts when registered. EA Mechanical adds a one-year labor warranty on every install on top of the Carrier parts coverage and handles registration on your behalf so you do not lose the long warranty by missing the 90-day window.

Common Carrier Issues We See in LA

Carrier Infinity Touch thermostat error code on screen
Most Infinity error codes point to a specific component. We carry the Carrier service manual codes and can often diagnose remotely before the truck arrives.
Outdoor unit fan not spinning, compressor humming
Almost always a failed dual-run capacitor on the Carrier 24-series condensers. Common, fixable, and usually a same-visit repair under $300.
Furnace flame rolls out the front of the burner
Indicates a blocked flue or heat exchanger issue on Carrier 58/59 series furnaces. Shut the system off and call — do not run it until inspected.
Variable-speed Infinity system runs constantly at low speed
This is often correct behavior, not a fault — Infinity systems run long, low-speed cycles for comfort. We can verify with the diagnostic port.

These symptoms can have multiple causes. For safe, accurate diagnosis and repair, call E & A Mechanical at (818) 988-9060. Attempting HVAC repairs without proper training and licensing can void warranties and create safety hazards.
